Construction is complete for the new County Communications Center (CCC). The $20.9 million project is located on the county campus at 119th & Ridgeview and will be operational by mid 2009.
The building dedication ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, and is open to the public.
The CCC will provide a hardened public safety dispatch facility with redundant mechanical and utility systems to ensure that emergency communications for law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services will continue without interruption under hazardous weather conditions. The CCC provides the opportunity for co-location of several public safety dispatch centers into one facility for significant cost savings to taxpayers and increased coordination of public safety services to citizens by local agencies working closely together in the facility.
The 46,000 square foot structure was designed and built by the team of PGAV Architects and McCown Gordon Construction. LEED certification is anticipated.
