The Department of Corrections Adult Residential Centers were constructed as needs for minimum security detention housing facilites rose. The first was built in 1987, the second in 1993, and the third in 1997. The newest residential facility and a programs buiilding is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2005. The main objective of the Residential Center program is to reintegrate clients into the community as successful, productive citizens.
